Tesla CEO Elon Musk will join the Financial Times’ Future of the Car summit on 10 May, giving a one-hour live interview by video at 6pm BST with FT global motor industry correspondent Peter Campbell.
Musk will feature alongside a line-up of chief executives including Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares and Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kallenius, as well as film composer Hans Zimmer. At the summit manufacturers, industry figures and challenger brands will examine the technology, consumer and business model trends that are changing the way cars are made and sold.
The summit will address topics that are top-of-mind for carmakers around the world: industry decarbonisation; turning the car into a source of income throughout its life; personalising the in-car experience; producing better and cheaper electric vehicles; mobility in the Metaverse; optimising battery life; and securing automotive supply chains in an industry beset by semiconductor and raw materials shortages. In the wake of COP26, the summit will also ask: what more can the industry do to ramp-up its decarbonisation efforts in alignment with the 1.5°C warming goal?
