16 June 2014: Last night How To Spend it hosted the second event in a series of exclusive global dinners with Ferran Adriá, the world’s most celebrated chef. The dinner was held at Aberdeen Street Social in Hong Kong with a menu prepared by house chef Jason Atherton as an interpretation of some of elBulli’s most famous dishes. A ticket to the event cost USD $1,495 for an individual and USD $2595 for a couple.

Guests were greeted by Adriá, Atherton and Ben Hughes, the FT’s global commercial director and deputy CEO, at the Dom Pérignon champagne reception.

Adriá gave a speech about the elBulli Foundation and legacy, and took questions from the audience. Guests left the event with a signed elBulli menu card, a copy of Adriá’s biography and a signed bookplate for the volumes of recipe books published by Phaidon.

The menu featured Apple mojito sandwich, native blue Scottish lobster ceviche, loin of Lincolnshire rabbit in escabèche, earth eel fish, cucumber and grains, game consommé with Armagnac and autumn leaf and wild mushrooms from the New Forest in various textures and temperatures
