6 August 2018: The Financial Times is strengthening its banking and finance coverage in the US with new appointments.
Brendan Greeley (@bhgreeley) joins FT Alphaville as US editor, based in New York. An expert on fiscal and monetary policy and an avid fed watcher, Greeley was previously the economics correspondent for Bloomberg TV and before that covered economics and technology for Bloomberg Businessweek. He has had previous stints at the Economist and was a freelancer whose work appeared in the New York Times, New York Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. In 2012 he received a New York Press Club award for special events reporting for a “Why Bin Laden Lost.”
Robert Armstrong (@rbrtrmstrng) and Laura Noonan (@LauraNoonanFT) will be leading a revamped financial services team out of New York, to further strengthen exceptional banking industry coverage, with a focus on the leading US financial companies. Armstrong, previously based in London as the chief leader writer and a former editor of the Lex column, will take up a new position as US finance editor. Noonan will take on the role of US banking editor in September, also based in New York. She was previously the investment banking correspondent, based in London.
