15 June 2017: The Financial Times received three awards at the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards for Editorial Excellence in Hong Kong today.
The FT was recognised in the following categories:
- Jamil Anderlini, Asia editor, won the award for Excellence in Feature Writing for The Return of Mao: a new threat to China’s politics
- Barney Jopson, policy correspondent, won the award for Excellence in Lifestyle Coverage for A journey along Japan’s oldest pilgrimage route
- Pilita Clark, environment correspondent, won the award for Excellence in Reporting on the Environment for Indonesia: Saving the Earth, which is part of a special multimedia series called The Great Land Rush.
FTChinese.com received Honourable Mentions for Excellence in Opinion Writing and Excellence in Feature Writing.
The SOPA Awards recognise journalistic excellence across Asia, covering a range of categories that reflect the region’s diverse geo-political landscape.
