The Financial Times, in partnership with One World Media, has selected Frankline Sunday, a data journalist from Nairobi, Kenya, as the first FT Africa Fellow.
The fellowship is aimed at mid-career journalists from Sub-Saharan Africa who have an ambitious business story with international ramifications to tell a global audience. The FT will provide training, editorial support and one-to-one mentoring from expert senior editors – including foreign editor Alec Russell and Africa editor David Pilling – to support the Fellow in producing a long-form article that will be published in the Financial Times.
In addition, the programme gives the selected Fellow the opportunity to join the wider One World Media Fellowship cohort to collaborate with and learn alongside a global peer group, and to receive training and a reporting grant of £1,000.

The FT Africa Journalism Fellowship is one of several partnership programmes run by One World Media since 2001, which focus on supporting journalists and filmmakers in the Global South.
