The Financial Times received two awards at the CFA UK Journalism Awards, which showcase contributions for the advancement of investor education through journalism.
Lex deputy editor Elaine Moore won CFA UK National Journalist of the Year for her report on Uber’s business model, its controversies and the potential of Uber finally managing to balance their books.
Hedge fund correspondent Laurence Fletcher, and markets reporter Tommy Stubbington won the category ESG, Climate and Sustainable Investing for their article on ESG investing and human rights. The article poses the dilemma for ESG investing in relation to countries with dubious human rights records and interrogates the weigh up between yield and upholding ESG standards.
On the same night, FT insurance correspondent Ian Smith was named Journalist of the Year at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) Journalist and Media Awards. Ian also won the Best Consumer Award for his reporting on low income workers being priced out of the insurance market.
