Tim Hayward has been named food writer of the year at Fortnum & Mason’s prestigious Food & Drinks Award 2014. He was recognised for his columns and features in FT Weekend Magazine.

Sue Matthias, editor of FT Weekend Magazine, said: “Tim is a truly original voice and a big talent: this year he has written brilliantly on subjects ranging from why people “tutt” in restaurants to how to cook a lobster in a wheelbarrow. It’s also an exciting accolade for our food and drink section, which goes from strength to strength under its inspired editor Natalie Whittle.”
