FT Fund Management (FTfm) reporter Madison Marriage has been named winner of CFA UK’s ethical and professional standards award. The award, presented annually by the association of finance industry professionals, recognises the journalist who has done most to advocate high standards of ethical and professional behaviour in the investment sector over the past year. The CFA particularly commended for her work on sexism in asset management.
The CFA added that Madison was also praised for her articles on closet tracking — funds that charge high fees for active management, but which in fact do little more than hug an index.
Will Goodhart, chief executive of CFA UK, said: “The media plays a crucial role in holding our profession to account and in bridging the gap between the public and the investment profession.
“We value the work that the media does and we are delighted to have an opportunity to recognise and reward those who excel in that work.”
