The Financial Times has won two 2022 Harold Wincott Awards.

Columnist and chief data reporter John Burn-Murdoch was named Journalist of the Year for his weekly Data Points column. Burn-Murdoch was commended for using data to “throw fresh light” on subjects including climate change, inequality and the health of the UK workforce, and for his “concise, lucid and always to the point” writing.

Joshua Oliver was joint winner in the Young Journalist of the Year category for his reporting on the collapse of crypto exchange FTX, with the judges praising his "ground-breaking reporting and analysis". 

In addition, Jennifer Williams, the FT’s Northern England correspondent, was highly commended in the Journalist of the Year, nations and regions, category.

The awards were presented on 9 May at a ceremony in Mansion House, City of London.
